Hi, my name is Tjade Bouma (b. 1985). I’m an Amsterdam based graphic designer, art director and photographer working in art, fashion and culture. Before I started my own creative studio I worked at Foam photography museum and was curator of art platform Beelddragers.
Photography always plays a significant role in my work: from editorial design, to art direction, from curation and editing to exhibition design. Next to my work as art director I’m a street-, portrait- and still life photographer. With a sensitivity to colour and a graphic eye for composition I try to inspire the viewer to find beauty in the ordinary.
In 2024 the photo book I Went on a Holiday to the Country You Came From from photographer Iris Haverkamp Begemann was launched. It was one of the top photo book picks by photography museum Huis Marseille.
For renowned photo journalism award De Zilveren Camera I’m head of jury in the Art, Culture and Entertainment category. I also help photographers tell their story through 1:1 coaching sessions, workshops and masterclasses at Fotoacademie and DuPho.
